Time to hit BJP for a six and oust them from Parliament: Navjot Singh Sidhu

SILCHAR: Campaigning at Itkhoka Ground in Silchar on Friday, former cricketer and Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu launched a scathing attack on BJP, alleging that the “Modi government has looted the masses in the last past five years and only helped industrialists like Ambani to increase their wealth”.
“It is time to hit BJP for a sixer and send them across the boundary of the Parliament. The Modi government has only looted the masses. He made 384 promises to the people but failed to fulfil all of them,” said Sidhu, who had earlier attracted criticism from the BJP for hugging Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan.
“Modi had promised before the last Lok Sabha polls that citizens will get Rs 15 lakh in their bank accounts and 2 crore jobs will be given every year if the BJP came to power. But those have turned out to be fake promises. The country will be totally finished if Modi becomes the Prime Minister once again,” the Punjab minister added, while campaigning for Silchar Congress candidate Sushmita Dev.
Accusing Modi of using the Indian Army for political gains, Sidhu urged the people to usher in a new dawn by voting Congress to power.
Addressing the gathering, Congress leader and daughter of former President Pranab Mukherjee, Sarmishtha Mukherjee, criticized the Modi government for demonetization and the “failure” to revive the Cachar and Nogaon paper mills, units of state-owned HPC in Assam, which have been closed for three years now.
While Congress president Rahul Gandhi campaigned in Silchar on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was here on Thursday. Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will take part in a road show in Silchar on Sunday in support of the Congress nominee.
