Indore: Nation is run by only two people, says Kapil Sibal

Senior advocate and Congress leader Kapil Sibal on Thursday targeted BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying that the nation is run by only two people and it has never happened in the history. Addressing media during his visit to Indore, Sibal said, “All cabinet members are silent, ministers don’t have any power and are working as per the directions of Prime Minister Office. Even the PMO is run by few people.” He said that government doesn’t talk about the real issues and problems of poor but they use to talk about surgical strike.

“We salute the armed forces for surgical strike but the PM should have done the surgical strike on unemployment. They (Modi) only raided the poor through demonetisation in last five years,” Sibal said. He refused to comment on the recent I-T raids in Madhya Pradesh saying that he did not want to comment as it is in the court and he is the lawyer. However, he targeted the government and agencies saying that if the agencies have become government, then democracy is in danger.

“If ED, CBI, CBDT and other agencies become government or the long hand of the government, then what will be the difference between the state and institutions. The recent events have shown that the agencies are working at the instance of the government,” Sibal said. Commenting in Rafale issue, the senior Congress leader said that the government is trying to protect themselves in the garb of official secret act and the revelation of the documents present the correct facts before the Supreme Court. “If Pentagon can release its documents in public interest then why it is not possible in Rafale case,” he asked.
