Nagpur: With the process of voting over in the city for Lok Sabha seat, candidates of the two national parties, who slugged it out hard for over last two weeks, got some time to rest and recuperate.

BJP’s Nitin Gadkari remained at home with family and took rest between meeting visitors. He will remain in the city on Saturday to participate in Ram Navami celebrations and on April 14 morning for Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar’s birth anniversary functions. From Monday, he would begin touring constituencies to campaign for party candidates in the next phases of the Lok Sabha elections.

BJP sources said the campaign itinerary is yet to be finalized and his staff is waiting for the party to give a list where he is expected to campaign in the state as well as in other states. Even in the last two weeks, Gadkari was out most of the days in afternoons to cover the seven constituencies in Vidarbha which went to polls in the first phase on Thursday. He used to campaign for himself in the morning hours and later in the evening after returning from tours for which he used helicopter to travel.

Talking to reporters, a relaxed Patole took time off to go to his native place Bhandara to attend a marriage function. By afternoon, he was back in Nagpur and meeting visitors ending the day participating in a function at Teka. Patole is heading for Delhi on Saturday and is expected to take up party’s campaign assignment in different constituencies in the state for the next rounds of election.

Along with candidates, scores of back-room boys, campaign managers and thousands of committed party workers got well-deserved rest after an intensive and hectic two-week campaign in the city. Now, all of them have to wait patiently for over a month for the results.
