Paragliding to create awareness about voting

HUBBALLI: The sistrict SVEEP committee will organize a free paragliding classes for people to motivate them to voting, in Hubballi on Saturday.

Hubballi urban tahsildar Shashidhar Madyal said on Friday that paragliding will be organized at Nehru Stadium from 9.30am to 11.30am. “Voters, particularly youngsters can enjoy paragliding at no cost after taking an oath to vote. Two teams of paragliders have been invited from Bengaluru. One can fly for 5-7 minutes. People aged above 18 can take part,” he added.


“The event is being held to motivate people to participate actively in electoral process. We feel people who paraglide will share their experience with their friends and family and motivate them to vote on April 23,” he added.


Apart from this, SVEEP committee is holding a march-past, bicycle and bike rally at Chennamma Circle at 6pm on April 15. “About 50 bikers and 150 students will take part in the awareness rally. A telefilm on SVEEP activities will be released on the occasion,” Madyal stated. An exhibition on voting will be held from April 18 to 20 at Hubballi Old Bus Stand.


Hubballi rural tahsildar Sangamesh Badagi, taluk panchayat executive officer Patil, BEO Ashok Kalghatgi and other officials were present.
