FALL RIVER — An apparent argument about a woman led to a fight just after 10 p.m. Thursday and the arrest of two city men, one of whom was wanted in Florida for charges including battering a police officer, according to police.

Peter Miranda, 25, of Meridian Street, was arguing with a 31-year-old man in the parking lot of Hartwell Commons over a disagreement about his girlfriend, according to Detective John Robinson.

Miranda allegedly pulled a knife and “waved it” at the man, Robinson said in a statement. Then, another city man, David Occhino, 30, of Pleasant Street, pushed the man.

The man was not injured, according to Robinson.

Police were called to Hartwell Commons. They detained Miranda and found the knife, said Robinson.

Occhino fled the scene, but was later arrested inside a Plymouth Avenue restaurant, according to police. Robinson said a check of Occhino’s record showed that he had a warrant out for his arrest in Florida on charges of battery of a police officer, violently resisting an officer, fleeing from an officer, possession of burglarious tools and grand theft of a motor vehicle.
