Representatives of the All Teachers Association Federation led by convener S.N. Janardhanan, and representatives of Government Employees Association district president K. Saravanaraj submitted their memorandum to the District Revenue Officer J. Partheeban urging him to enhance facilities to teachers who were allotted election duty.
The members said that some teachers and employees deputed for election work have not yet received their postal ballot. They also sought the issuance of Election Duty Certificate (EDC) for those deputed for the same parliamentary constituency.
They also sought transport facility for teachers and officials to return home after election duty. Mr. Partheeban said postal ballot of all employees and teachers would be issued in the next class, which would be conducted on April 13 and 17. The election duty certificate would also be distributed to teachers and employees concerned, he added.
Tamilnadu Post Graduate Teachers Association district president S. Rajeshkanna, Tamilnadu Aasiriyar Munnetra Kahzaga district secretary G.D. Babu, Tamizhaga Tamil Teachers Association district secretary Vaaraa, Tamilnadu High and Higher Secondary School Graduate Teachers Association district secretary M.S.Selvakumar, and Tamilnadu Government Employees Association district treasurer Mohaganamoorthi were present on the occasion.
