A four-year-old girl, who was visiting her grandparents, was killed when an iron grille gate fell on her while she and her sister were playing near it.
The gate, which was old, was on the neighbour’s property, said the police.
The incident took place around 7.10 p.m. on Tuesday when the victim, Kruthi Arasu M., and her elder sister Dhruthi were playing near their paternal grandparents’ house at Tyagarajanagar. According to the police, Kruthi sustained grievous head injuries and was declared brought dead by doctors at a nursing home in the area.
Their parents, Manjunath A. and Sharmila, reside at Kathriguppe. “As summer holidays were on, their parents left them at Manjunath’s mother Subbulakshmi’s house at Tyagarajanagar,” said a police officer.
Both the children were playing near the neighbour’s gate when it crashed on Kruthi, the police said.
Manjunath later filed a complaint with the Basavanagudi police stating his daughter was killed due to negligence on the part of the neighbour, Muralidhar.
