Overnight storms knock out power on Lafayette's south side

Bars... 3 breaking overnight, strong winds caused power outages in several places across lafayette.a couple hundred people on lafayette's south side are still without power this morning.lafayette police say a tree fell over near the intersection of bennett and teal roads.that is near central catholic high school.

You are looking at footage where a tree brought down power lines.officers have closed a part of teal road as they restore the power.a few blocks west -- traffic lights are out at the intersection of south 4th street and teal road.

There was also an outage near brady lane and south 18th steet.however, power has been restored to that intersection.

About 200 people lost power near teal road and 9th street.
