BHEL flags off consignment for power projects

A consignment of about 820 tonnes of boiler components, valves and other structurals for 12 major power projects coming up across India and overseas were flagged off from the Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Tiruchi, on Friday.

The components were meant for the North Karanpura (3 X 660 MW), Tuticorin (1 X 252 MW), North Chennai (1 X 660 MW), Uppur (2 X 800 MW), Yadadri (5 x 800 MW), Badradri (4 X 270 MW), Panki (1 x 660 MW), Udangudi (2 X 660 MW), Bhusawal (1 X 660 MW), Vijayawada (1 X 800 MW) and project Maitree (2 X 660 MW) in Bangladesh.

The consignment, in 36 trailer lorries, were flagged off by R. Padmanabhan, General Manager in-charge, BHEL, Tiruchi. This was the first consignment despatched from BHEL, Tiruchi, for the current financial year, a BHEL press release said.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Padmanabhan said BHEL, Tiruchi, had been successful in creating value for its customers by adapting to their changing needs through innovation and quick adoption of latest technological developments.

V. Srinivasan, General Manager, Commercial, Marketing, Proposals (Fossil Boilers) and Logistics, handed over the dispatch documents to M. Thiruneelakandan, General Manager, Finance.

Mr.Padmanabhan also flagged off the first consignment of seamless steel tubes from Seamless Steel Tube Plant (SSTP) of BHEL, Tiruchi, for the financial year 2019-20, in the presence of A. Sivakumar, Deputy Director of Boilers, Tiruchi, M.V. Selvan, General Manager, SSTP, and other senior officials.

A consignment of 80 metric tonnes was flagged off for High Pressure Boiler Plant.

Mr. Selvan handed over the dispatch documents to K.Mohan, General Manager, Materials Management and Works Contract Management, a BHEL press release said.
