Many parts of the Madhya Pradesh especially Bhopal and Hoshangabad divisions may see some thunderstorm and dust storm in the next couple of days. Besides, Damoh, Narsingpur, Seoni, Jabalpur, Chhindwara and Chhattarpur districts which may also experience thunderstorm and dust storm. Heat wave continues to lash districts including Guna, Sagar, Chhindwara, and Damoh. Tikamgarh, Guna, and Sagar are experiencing high night temperatures. Khargone recorded 44 degree Celsius which was highest in the state.
Besides, heat wave like condition prevailed in Bhopal as it recorded a maximum temperature of 41.3 degree Celsius which was 3 degree Celsius above normal while it recorded a minimum temperature of 25.2 degree Celsius which was 3.5 degree Celsius above normal. Indore recorded 40.4 degree Celsius which was 1.8 degree Celsius above normal while it recorded a minimum temperature of 23 degree Celsius which was 2 degree Celsius above normal.
Dust storm and thunderstorm activities were witnessed over western and northern parts of Madhya Pradesh. These activities were accompanied with strong winds and lightning strikes over a few parts. However, these weather activities were mainly patchy in nature. These weather activities are only going to expand in coverage, affecting eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh as well. West Madhya Pradesh, on the other hand will see some reduced activity.
Rain spell likely in Jabalpur, Sidhi, Satna, Mandla
As per the Meteorological department, dry weather has been persisting over Madhya Pradesh and adjoining state for the past many days. Now it is all set to change as a spell of rain is likely to make an appearance. The reason for these activities is the formation of a trough from Bihar to the eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh across Chhattisgarh. Major cities like Jabalpur, Sidhi, Satna, Mandla, are likely to get affected.
