Six held for killing realtor over gambling money in Bengaluru

BENGALURU: Six persons were arrested on Thursday on charges of murdering a 38-year-old realtor and assaulting two others in a clash over gambling money on April 6, the day of Ugadi festival.
The accused are Santosh S alias Giri, 22, Raju N, 20, Jeevan N, 18, Raju K, 22, Kiran Kumar, 21 and Jaikiran, 21, all from Bangarappa Nagar near Rajarajeshwari Nagar. Three more suspects identified as Pandu alias Active Pandu, Harish and Mahadeva are at large.
Police said realtor Ramesh was with his friend R Ramu at Hosakerehalli on April 6. Ramu received a call from his son, who said that a gang in Bangarappa Layout had forcefully taken Rs 30,000 that he’d won in gambling. Ramesh and Ramu rushed to the locality to sort out the problem. The gang attacked them with machetes and sticks. Ramesh, who lost consciousness, was taken in an autorickshaw and dumped at Krishnappa Layout, where he bled to death.
