A council ranger was knocked out in a brutal random attack in the street.
The ranger was walking with his colleague along a road in Liverpool, west Sydney on Tuesday afternoon when a white Subaru pulled up beside them.
One of the passengers allegedly got out and punched the ranger in the face, causing him to fall to the ground unconscious before the men in the car fled.

The 35-year-old ranger was taken to Liverpool Hospital with serious facial injuries and had surgery on Friday.
Police launched an investigation into the assault and detectives have released images of a man they believe can assist with inquiries.
The man in the image is described as being of Middle Eastern or Mediterranean appearance, with short black hair. He was wearing a black 'Nike' long-sleeved top.
Police have also released an image of the getaway car which had a fake number plate.
