In a major relief to Adani Power, the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) on Friday has approved higher tariff for Adani Power's 2000 MW Mundra power project.
Adani Power has approached the regulators for allowing a higher tariff when the cost of imported coal shot up.
The Gujarat State Electricity Board had approached the CERC on behalf of Adani Power to seek approval to amend the terms of the power purchase agreement (PPA) for 2,000 MW.
This decision will mean more expensive power for consumers in Gujarat where Adani Power has two PPAs with 1,000 MW each.
