E-tendering scam enters MP’s political arsenal

Bhopal, The Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee averred on Thursday that stringent punishment would be meted out to those who perpetrated an e-tendering scam during the predecessor Bharatiya Janata Party dispensation.

“The entire saffron camp is jittery after the Economic Offences Wing registered a first information report (FIR). In this matter, erstwhile Public Health Engineering minister Kusum Mehdele unambiguously alleged that the related file was approved not by her but by the then Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan as the tenders pertained to the Jal Nigam of which he was Chairman. The FIR contains details of three tampered Nigam tenders amounting to approximately Rs 1,800 crore,” Media In-charge Shobha Ojha said in a release.
