Man held for supplying illegal weapons to criminals

A 28-year-old man, carrying a reward of Rs 1 lakh, was arrested from for allegedly supplying illegal arms to criminals in the national capital and its neighbouring states, officials said Friday.

The accused was identified as (28), a resident of district in Uttar Pradesh, they said.

According to DCP (Special Cell) Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, on May 21, 2018, two associates of Israr, identified as and Ram Kumar, were arrested with 21 semi-automatic pistols and 42 live cartridges.

During interrogation, both accused disclosed that they have procured the illegal firearms from Israr, he said.

Police received information that Israr was lodged in the in a dacoity case. However, when police reached the Ajmer Jail, they got to know that Israr was released on bail.

Later, Israr was arrested from Madhya Pradesh's district, the DCP said.

Israr told police that he used to purchase arms from Jeet, a resident of Burhanpur in MP, and then used to supply the illegal consignments to his contacts in Delhi, UP and
