Ecogreen, an 100 per cent export-oriented unit (EOU) activated carbon company based out of Thoothukudi, is looking to raise growth capital of $4-8 mn (Rs 27 cr).

It is also backward integrating to manufacture green charcoal through direct sourcing of coconut shell and agro-forestry wood carbon from farmers in south India. Ecogreen has made progress in new product development with advance process technology & International quality parameters. Ecogreen will aim to obtain IP rights.
The company is a leading manufacturer and exporter of activated carbon. Ecogreen is led by DN Nirranjan Kani, an entrepreneur of the VVD group, a leading FMCG player in south. VVD claims to have the second largest coconut hair oil business in the country. Ecogreen is in discussions with venture capital and private equity funds to invest in their high growth plan to become one of south and Southeast Asia’s leading cleantech firms.
