GURUGRAM: A 24-year-old man was arrested for allegedly stalking and harassing a 22-year-old woman in Udyog Vihar area. He was later granted bail.
The woman, who is a Delhi resident and works in the HR department of a private company based in Udyog Vihar, filed a complaint against the accused on Tuesday at Udyog Vihar police station, alleging that Pradeep Sahu (24), also a resident of Delhi, has been stalking and harassing her for the past few months, and had asked her to marry him.
“Pradeep and I used to work in the same office till he was terminated from the job around six months ago. I had informed the office that he had been harassing and stalking me, following which he was asked to leave. But, this did not deter him,” she told police.
Pradeep, allegedly, continued to stalk the woman. “I used to find him standing near my office in the morning and the evening. He used to follow me too. On Monday evening, when I left office, he stopped my way and asked
me to marry him,” said the complainant.
Based on her complaint, an FIR was registered against Pradeep under sections 341 (wrongful restraint), 354D (stalking) of the IPC at Udyog Vihar police station on Tuesday and the accused was nabbed within a few hours.
“After arresting Pradeep, we produced him in a city court that later granted him bail,” said head constable Monika, the investigating officer at Udyog Vihar police station.
