Sensation prevailed in Panchseel Nagar on Wednesday afternoon after a retired forest employee and his wife were found murdered in their rented accommodation in Priyadarshini Nagar under TT Nagar police station on Wednesday. One of the murdered couple has been detained in double murder case on basis of suspicion. According to Zone-1 ASP- Akhil Patel the deceased were identified as 62-year-old Dalchandra Razak and his 55-year-old wife Beti Bai.
They were living in house of retired ASI P.M Choure on rent. Dalchandra class four employee with the forest department at Satpuda Bhavan and had retired recently. The couple is survived by two daughters-Shalini and Neha. Elder daughter Shalini has been married whereas younger daughter Neha works at a call centre and on Wednesday morning deceased Dalchandra had dropped his daughter Neha to her workplace.
Dalchandra had received gratuity of Rs 1000,000 on his retirement. He was constructing his own house in the same area. In between 3pm to 4pm when the person who has taken the building contract of deceased’s house went to meet the deceased about some work. But he found that the door of Dalchandra’s rented house is open and on peeping inside from the curtain, he spotted Dalchandra’s body lying on bed and in another room the blood stained body of his body of his wife was found lying on a cot. Following this he informed another tenant Vimal living on upper floor of the building.
Later Dial 100 police were informed after which senior police officials along with FSL team reached the spot. When couple’s younger daughter Neha came to know about murder of her parents she came to house along with her cousin brother living in Bhim Nagar area. According to police the Dalchandra’s head had been hit with a heavy object and then choked him by keeping a pillow on his face. The neck of Beti Bai was slit with a sharp-edged weapon.
A case under Section 302 of IPC has been registered and deceased’s nephew has been detained on suspicion. Manish has allegedly withdrawn money amounting to lakhs from Dalchandra’s account using his ATM card keeping him in dark. The deceased recently came to know about this fact.
