Accuses AAP government of freezing Ayushman Bharat Yojana implementation

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday held demonstrations against the Delhi government for allegedly stalling the implementation of the Centre’s health benefit scheme, the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, here.

Form human chain

Workers of the party’s OBC Morcha formed a human chain from the Police Headquarters to ITO while its Poorvanchal Morcha took out a protest march from Khajuri Chowk to Bhajanpura in north east Delhi.

“The Chief Minister is not implementing the public welfare scheme...under which the people of Delhi can get free treatment up to ₹5 lakh...but is fixing congratulatory posters and banners...without doing any work besides misleading the people on the issue of full statehood,” Delhi BJP OBC Morcha president Gaurav Khari said in his address to the party workers.

“He (Mr. Kejriwal) is misusing the public money on propaganda. Ayushman Bharat Yojana is a boon to the people of Delhi but Kejriwal is obstructing its implementation. He has become a curse for the people of Delhi,” Mr. Khari alleged further.

Accusing him of obstructing the implementation of the scheme, which he argued was a “boon” to “a large section of the people,” who are economically weak and are unable to bear the expense of treatment of serious illness, Mr. Khari accused Mr. Kejriwal of doing so for his own “political interest.”

‘Ayushman March’

Meanwhile, the Delhi BJP Poorvanchal Morcha took out an ‘Ayushman March’ from the Khajuri Chowk to Bhajanpura Chowk demanding the implementation of the scheme in the national capital.
