Share market update: Private Bank shares down; Axis Bank dips 1%

The Nifty Private Bank index was trading 0.21 per cent down at 16,954.40 around 12:37 pm.

NEW DELHI: Shares of Private banks were trading with losses in Thursday's afternoon session.

Shares of RBL Bank (down 1.53 per cent), Axis Bank (down 0.90 per cent), ICICI Bank (down 0.77 per cent) and IDFC First Bank (down 0.64 per cent) were trading lower.

YES Bank (down 0.43 per cent), IndusInd Bank (down 0.35 per cent) and Kotak Mahindra Bank (down 0.24 per cent) too were in the red.

The Nifty Private Bank index was trading 0.21 per cent down at 16,954.40 around 12:37 pm.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 4.15 points at 11,580.15 while the BSE Sensex was down 21.94 points at 38,563.41.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 24 were trading in the green, while 26 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, DLF, Bharti Airtel, Vedanta, YES Bank, Indian Oil Corp, SAIL and Bank of Baroda were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
