Swarbrahmand Youth foundation in Dombivli's Marathi new year celebrations on Saturday was a visual spectacle for the eyes of the onlookers and all those who participated in it. The 'Dhol Tasha Pathak' or a local percussion band played around 35 Dhols and 12 tashas on Saturday morning in the Gudi Padwa or the Marathi new year procession. In the second year of the procession, Kilbil Creche, Nerurkar school and Dombivli Past Students organization participated in the yearly carnival.
There were 84 players in all who participated in the grand musical. The percussion band has a unique income model. They play on Ganeshotsav, Navratri and Diwali mornings. The income that they generate as a result is spent on causes related to the needy in society.
The youth foundation throughout the year organizes youth events in Dombivli. In Diwali, they organized sand fort models building competition. During Diwali, the organization donates food to the roadside hungry and needy people. While celebrating culture the foundation is also ensuring that they give back to the society through various endeavours that they undertake regularly.
