Ludhiana: Students of BCM School, Chandigarh Road, can finally heave a sigh of relief as they will no longer be burdened with heavy school bags. The school has implemented ‘No Bag, No Homework’ policy till Class III following the directive issued by Central Board of Secondary Education’s (CBSE).
Books and notebooks will be submitted to the class teachers in schools and allowed to be taken home twice a week so that parents can be kept in the loop regarding what their wards are being taught. Students can only bring their lunch box, water bottle and school almanac in a small sachet. No homework will be assigned to students of classes I to III. In classes IV to VIII, 50% of the total books and notebooks will be kept in the school and the rest will be brought by the students according to a timetable, which they will have to strictly follow.
The initiative shall definitely waiver the physical burden on the young students. Principal DP Guleria said this exemption in bag load and workload is aimed at liberating the children from unnecessary burden and allowing them to grow, learn and flourish.
