BSP Supremo and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati would be reaching Nawanshahr to address a rally on May 12. The BSP supremo would address the rally in favour of all the 13 Lok Sabha candidates of Punjab Democratic Alliance (PDA), where BSP was one of ts key alliance partner. The PDA was an alliance of parties led by ex-AAP leader Sukhpal Khaira‘s Punjabi Ekta Party (PEP). BSP’s Punjab Chandigarh in-charge Randhir Singh Beniwal said that the BSP candidates under PDA and the party workers were geared to make Mayawati’s rally a success.

A meeting of BSP state leadership and party workers was held in Jalandhar on Wednesday. Earlier, BSP’s Jalandhar candidate Balwinder Kumar, Hoshiarpur candidate Khushi Ram and Anandpur Sahib seat candidate Vikram Singh Sodhi were present.Notably, out of the 13 Lok Sabha seats, BSP fielded its candidates in the Jalandhar and Hoshiarpur, which were the two seats dalit dominated belt of doaba and also Anandpur Sahib.

Notably, Anandpur Sahib, a general parliamentary seat, covers dalit assembly segments of Hoshiarpur and Nawanshahr. Beniwal said that Mayawati’s rally would change the political ambience of the state. BSP Punjab president Rashpal Singh Raju also said that PDA candidates would win all the 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab.
