Tamil Nadu Revenue Officials’ Association has condemned the inordinate delay in appointment of Personal Assistant to Collector (Elections) in districts.
The association has long been demanding appointment of PA (Elections) for effective coordination of election-related duties. It highlighted that in the absence of PA (Elections), there were no single point of contact for election-related work.
Following their demand, the State issued a government order two weeks ago sanctioning appointment of PA (Elections) in 23 districts, up to the end of June, 2019. However, the appointments have not been made yet.
With hardly a week left for the parliamentary elections, the association urged the government to make the appointments without further delay and on a permanent basis.
