The Congress in Telangana alleged that the TRS government deposited money under its farmers' investment support scheme two days ahead of Thursday's Lok Sabha elections in the State.

The party also accused the Election Commission of not stopping the release of TRS president and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao's biopic well in time.

"The money could have been paid before 1st April or after 11," R C Khuntia, AICC in-charge of party affairs in Telangana, told reporters here.

Describing it as a "serious violation of election code", he said the party has drawn the attention of Election Commission and the state Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) to it.

"I think the appropriate action against the government should be taken," he said.

Though the party had complained to the election authorities about the release of Rao's biopic, he said the Congress got a letter on Thursday (about the release being stopped) "when it is already released on (March) 30th."

"This is a glaring example how the Election Commissioner's decision is partial, supporting the state government, supporting the Chief Minister, not taking the cognisance of opposition political parties," he said.

Citing an RTI reply and also some media reports, he alleged that money under Chief Minister's Relief Fund has been misused to influence the voters.

The Centre and EC must inquire into the matter immediately and take appropriate action, he said.

The CM's official residence was being misused for political activities and the CEO and Election Commissioner remained "silent spectator", he claimed.

Inspite of the attempts by the ruling party, he said Congress believed that the voters are supportive of his party.

State BJP president K Laxman claimed that anti-incumbency rose against the TRS government as seen in the defeat of TRS in the recent MLC polls.

Claiming that Congress and TDP are "gradually vanishing" from the state, he told reporters that BJP stood as the main competitor to TRS.

BJP's seat share and vote percentage is set to increase, he said.

Though TRS used money power, people expressed their wish to see Narendra Modi as Prime Minister again, Laxman claimed.

Polling for all the 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana was held Thursday.

The TRS, the BJP and Congress contested the polls without alliance.
