Ludhiana: The police on Wednesday rounded up two juveniles after Daba residents accused them of breaking into a house in the area.
Akhilesh Kumar, a resident of Daba, told the police, “I, along with my family, had gone to attend a wedding function in Sahnewal on Tuesday afternoon. On returning home in the evening, we found the main door lock broken and the house ransacked. Thieves had escaped with 400-gram gold and Rs 20,000.”
As he raised the alarm, neighbours rushed to his house. “One of my neighbours told me that he had seen two suspicious-looking youths roaming around my house,” he added.
On Wednesday afternoon, the neighbour sounded others when he again spotted the two youths in the area. The area residents nabbed them and called up the police. The duo was handed over to the cops.
Investigating officer sub-inspector Tarsem Singh said, “We are verifying the allegations of the area residents. During questioning, the duo revealed that they were minors.”
