AGRA: Seers in Vrindavan on Thursday announced support to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Lok Sabha election which is scheduled on April 18.
Incharge of Pachimanchal Kashi Vidaat Prishad Nagendra Maharaj said that they are supporting the BJP as the party always talks about duty towards nation (Rashtra-dharam) and Hinduatva. “All sants (seers) are with the party and we will try to ensure BJP win with a majority,” said Nagendra Maharaj, adding that nation needs Narendra Modi back as the PM. He said they all would support Mathura Lok Sabha candidate Hema Malini to make Modi the prime minister again.
Over 200 seers were present at Vrindavan’s Sudama Kutir ashram, where BJP MP Hema Malini, who is re-contesting elections from Mathura, and cabinet minister Srikant Sharma addressed them.
Talking to media, Sant Mohini Sharan said that BJP is the only party focussed on Hinduatva. He said, “We are not connected with any political party, but we support the party which does development of Braj and promotes Hindu religion."
Acharya Badrish said, “We will surely support BJP, but we have demanded that they make themselves available to public when needed."
Hema promised to fulfil their demand of cleaning Yamuna and resolving the issue of monkey menace. Hema said that Vrindavan’s culture has been maintained due to the seers only. “The cultural importance of this holy place can only be maintained by the BJP and Vrindavan development means the development of seers,” she said, adding that cows will not be left on roads as new cow sheds are being constructed in the Braj area.
Hema said that a lot of work is being done under the banner of Braj Vikas Parishad to maintain the beauty of Braj.
