‘YSRCP chief has no right to seek votes from people’

Alleging that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was shielding Leader of the Opposition Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy from the CBI cases, Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu on Tuesday said that no one could stop the TDP from developing the State. “Jagan, KCR and Modi trio is creating hurdles to the development of the State. They are working against the interests of the State, so as to protect their own interests,” he said while addressing a press conference at the TDP’s office here.

“Mr. Jagan had come from faction background and his grandfather Raja Reddy was a known factionist. How can we trust him that he could be the caretaker of common people?” Mr. Ramakrishnudu asked. He wondered why the Opposition leader had not condemned that allegations levelled by the TDP that the TRS was extending financial support to the YSRCP to meet the election expense. He said that the silence from the YSRCP camp was strengthening the TDP’s doubts over the money flow from the TRS.

“Mr. Jagan owned spacious buildings at Lotus Pond in Hyderabad, Pulivendula, Idupulapaya and Bengaluru. In the capacity of Opposition leader, his father Rajasekhara Reddy had given his house in Hyderabad for development. How could the family earn such huge properties within a short span without misusing power?” he asked.

Mr. Ramakrishnudu said that Mr. Jagan had no right to seek vote from people, as he was facing several charges including that of money laundering.

On the TDP’s election manifesto, the Finance Minister said that so much of exercise was done before announcing the manifesto, as the TDP had the practice of checking feasibility of each and every assurance that would be incorporated in the manifesto. “That is the reason why, the TDP is able to fulfil all the promises made to people in 2014. In fact, the government did beyond the manifesto, as we have not mentioned projects like Pattiseema in the manifesto,” he said.
