A photo of a chained up and malnourished dog has caused fury online with people calling out the shocking case of animal cruelty.
The picture, which was shared by Maranoa Animal Rescue, shows the animal at a house in Chinchilla, Queensland, before an online uproar forced them to take it down.
The picture shows the dog chained to the base of an outside staircase with the chain so short it can barely stand on all four of its legs.

A photo showing a case of animal cruelty lead to the address being shared online and some people doing vigilante styled drives past the house before the picture was taken down
Its ribs and bones are also protruding from its skin.
The Chinchilla Police Station received an influx of calls from angry residents from all over the country after the picture went viral.
Some people even drove past the home which has forced police to keep vigil as animal welfare officers investigate the picture and the home, The Gold Coast Bulletin reported.
'If the owner's won't surrender, then what a bunch of heartless bastards,' one user wrote.
'People that chain dogs up need to be shot! Praying for this poor dog,' another added.
A Department of Agriculture and Fisheries spokesman told the publication an officer had been sent out to the site but declined to give further details.

The photo infuriated a number of people online who hit out at the treatment of the dog and questioned what was being done
'A Biosecurity Queensland inspector is attending a Chinchilla address today in response to complaints received about animal welfare,' he said.
'While this is an active investigation, we cannot make further comment.'
In 2018 the Queensland RSPCA had over 2000 calls for animals left out with no shelter or water coupled with 200 call outs for dogs left in hot cars.
