Mumbai: A group of people claiming to be “innocent Hindus victimised by the Congress and the NCP” on Tuesday appealed to people to not vote for these two parties in Maharashtra in Lok Sabha elections, beginning April 11. Addressing a press conference here, the group comprising Sameer Kulkarni, an accused in the 2008 Malegaon bomb blast case, said they suffered due to “dirty politics” of the two parties.
“We are the innocent Hindus who are the victims of the dirty politics of the Congress and the NCP. No once should suffer like us. We appeal to you to not vote for the Congress and the NCP,” Kulkarni said. Besides Kulkarni, some accused being tried in several bomb blast cases across the state and their family members also attended the presser.
All of them are currently out on bail. Six people were killed and over 100 injured when an explosive device strapped on a motorcycle went off near a mosque in Malegaon, a town about 200 km from here in north Maharashtra, on September 29, 2008. The trial is going on before a special court.
