Renault India has kitted out the Captur with a host of advanced features to keep with the times and further improve on its value proposition. Some of these changes are also the result of the new safety features stipulated by the Indian Government.
The safety features include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, seat belt reminders and speed alert at 80 km/h and 120 km/h across all variants. In addition to that, the Renault Captur has been certified to exceed frontal, lateral and pedestrian safety norms.
Renault has also introduced a new variant, namely the Platine edition that gets auto sensing headlamps, rain sensing wipers, roof rails, rear parking camera with guide lines, cruise control and auto fold ORVMs. This new variant rides on 17-inch crystal cut alloys and has been fashioned in a choice of dual tone paint jobs. The cabin boasts of a premium feel thanks to the black and ivory treatment including the black leatherette seats that come with a 6-way adjuster.
As far as connectivity on board is concerned, the Captur comes with a 17.64 cm touchscreen MediaNAV Evolution module that gives you access to a plethora of features including Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It has voice recognition as well and works as your rear parking camera display too.
The Captur is available with both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol version gets the 1.5 litre H4K unit that delivers 106 PS of power and 142 Nm of torque and is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The diesel version gets the 1.5 litre K9K motor that churns out 110 PS of power and 240 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission.
The pricing of the Captur remains rather competitive with the range starting at INR 9.49 lakh and going up to INR 12.99 lakh.
