Both the Telugu Desam and the YSRCP left no stone unturned to attract voters on Tuesday, the last day for campaign. Top leaders, including Minister for Energy Kala Venkata Rao, Minister for Transport K. Atchannaidu and former Minister Kondru Murali Mohan, conducted door-to-door campaign in their respective constituencies Etcherla, Tekkali and Rajam.
TDP candidate Mr. Atchannaidu is facing YSRCP candidate Perada Tilak in Tekkali where the competition is neck and neck between two parties. Srikakulam Lok Sabha Candidate Duvvada Srinivas from the YSRCP, who also hails from Tekkali, organised a rally in Tekkali along with Mr.Tilak. Both leaders said that it was the time to put an end to the ‘domination and corruption’ of Mr. Atchannaidu. Telugu Desam MP Candidate Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, Srikakulam TDP nominee and Sitting MLA Gunda Lakshmi Devi sought votes while explaining ₹200 crore worth developmental activities in Srikakulam Assembly segment.
Former Minister Dharmana Prasadaa Rao had said there was a huge wave in favour of YSRCP in Srikakulam and other parts of the district. BJP MP Candidate Perla Sambamurthy, MLA candidate Challa Venkateswara Rao, Congress MP candidate Dola Jaganmohana Rao, Congress Party Srikakualm candidate Chowdary Satish explained ideology and manifestos of their parties to voters. Both national party leaders said that the real development of Srikakulam would not be possible with the regional parties. Etcherla constituency witnessed unprecedented political activity on the last day of campaign. TDP nominee Kala Venkata Rao is facing tough challenge from YSRCP candidate Gorle Kiran and Jana Sena Party candidate Badana Venkata Janardhana Rao. Left parties backed Mr. Janardhana Rao in Etcherla constituency.
