That's with purple runway aviation scholarships.
$2.5 million dollars total is being split between 6 college and universities.
One of them is indiana state university.
The school has a thriving aviation program.
News 10 caught up with one of the scholarship recipients about why he wanted to get into aviation.
"i came about it through a career exploration class and i just never really wanted to do anything else since.
It just seemed like a great opportunity and i know that a pilot shortage is coming up so hopefully i get in at the right time, but just the love of flying and the feeling that it gives you is just incomparable to anything else."
