NEW DELHI: The day temperature in Delhi was settled at 38.7 degrees Celsius, three notches above the season's average. The minimum temperature was recorded at 20.0 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the year, a Met department official said.

The humidity oscillated between 84 and 27 per cent.

The Met office has forecast partly cloudy skies along with the possibility of dust storm and thunderstorm towards afternoon and evening on Thursday.

"Strong surface winds are expected during the day," the weatherman said.

The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover at 40 and 19 degrees Celsius respectively, the Met department said.

According to a Sky Met official, a fresh western disturbance will induce a cyclonic circulation over west Rajasthan and a trough will extend from this circulation to west Uttar Pradesh.

Therefore, we expect thundery and dust storm activity at one or two places over Delhi in NCR on April 10 and 11, Mahesh Palawat, the vice president (Meteorology and Climate Change) of Skymet, said.

On Tuesday, the minimum temperature recorded was 20.4 degrees Celsius while the maximum temperature settled at 37.1 degrees Celsius.
