An infant was found at the Ammathottil electronic cradle of the Kerala State Council for Child Welfare at Thycaud here on Monday night.
The boy, around three months old and weighing 4 kg, was found in the cradle around 9 p.m. on Monday. He has been named Nirbhayan in memory of the seven-year-old boy at Thodupuzha who died recently from injuries sustained after an assault, council general secretary Deepak S.P. said.
He is the fourth child to be received in the new-look cradle after its inauguration by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on February 1.
Adoption proceedings will get under way soon, so any claimants should get in touch with the council authorities.
