Submits petition to Returning Officer, Election Observer and SP

Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) has submitted a petition listing out sensitive booths susceptible to alleged booth capturing to the Returning Officer, Election Observer and Superintendent of Police here on Wednesday.

Minnal Shakti, the district joint secretary of the party, has submitted the list of areas in each of the six Assembly constituencies falling under the Dharmapuri Lok Sabha constituency that are susceptible to rioting and “booth capturing”.

In Pennagaram constituency, Ajjanahalli, Moongilmaduvu, Vathalapuram, Nagamarai, Poochiyur, Chinnaperamanyur, Palinjahalli, Mangarai, and Ramagundahalli; in Paapireddypatty Assembly constituency, Nathamedu, Mottangurichi, Mangalakottai, Marukkalanpatty, Ramiyampatty, and Vairavahallli; in Dharmapuri constituency, Paapampatty, Soliyur(Vellaru), Merkathiyankottai, Mittareddyhalli, Ajjipatty, Indur, Thamarai Eri, Sikkanampatty pudur, Nagar Koodal, and Thinnahalli; in Harur constituency, Marudhipatty, S.Patty, Kokkarapatty, Pethadampatty, Morapppur, and Sithalpadi, in Palaccode, Kummanur, Vellichandai, Karukanahalli, and Thumbalahalli, in Mettur constituency, Karumalai Koodal, Thottypatty, Chinnakayur, Madhayankuttai, Thinnampatty, Kottayur, Karunkalur, and Kaveripuram.

“We have submitted a petition to the Collector, the Election Observer and the Superintendent of Police. Places like Nathamedu in Paapireddypatty, Palinjahalli in Pennagaram and some other areas, booth slips were snatched and votes were cast. Booth capturing happened last time,” Mr. Sakthi told The Hindu

The Hindu tried contacting the Returning Officer and Collector S.Malarvizhi, but the phone went unanswered.

When contacted, Superintendent of Police Rajan said that he would return the call. A text message was also sent to the SP on the petition and the nature of security.
