Man returning from Nandi Hills dies as SUV rams bike

BENGALURU: A 23-year-old hotel staff returning from Nandi Hills succumbed to injuries after a speeding Sports Utility Vehicle rammed the bike he was riding near Chikkajala Cross.
Ashish P Anil and Loliya, both employed with a hotel in Indiranagar, had visited Nandi Hills around 5.30am. “Both were returning to Indiranagar when a speeding SUV rammed their bike near Chikkajala Cross around 6.45am. Anil sustained serious head injuries and died on the way to hospital,” said police.

Loliya sustained minor injuries and was treated as out-patient, they added.

Vendor killed as bike rams flyover wall


A 21-year-old vendor riding, who was on the way to buy fruits from market, died on the spot after the bike he was riding pillion skidded off the road on Mysuru Road flyover.


Deceased Kaleel Shameem, a resident of Hosaguddadahalli, was riding pillion with his friend Sarfaraj Khan, when their bike skidded off the road before ramming a sidewall around 8am, said traffic police.


“Shameem died instantly while Khan sustained minor injuries,” they added.
