Eleven engineers from Bharat Electronics involved in the process

Loading of names, symbols and photographs of candidates to the electronic voting machines (EVMs) allocated for Salem constituency was completed here by Wednesday.

Eleven engineers from Bharat Electronics were involved in the job at the strong rooms set up at Shri Sakthikailassh Women’s College and AVS College here. Twenty-two candidates are contesting the polls from Salem Parliamentary constituency. According to officials, the candidates’ names, symbols and photographs were loaded to 4,242 ballot units, 2,228 control units and 2,390 VVPAT machines for 1,803 polling station in the constituency.

District Collector Rohini R.Bhajibhakare reviewed the works along with senior district administration officials here.

Namakkal

The work to load the names, photographs, and symbols of candidates contesting from Namakkal constituency began here on Wednesday. Twelve engineers from Bharat Electronics were involved in the process.

Six Assembly constituencies - Sankagiri, Rasipuram, Sendhamangalam, Namakkal, Thiruchengode and Paramahi Vellur - fall under Namakkal Parliamentary seat. According to officials, 3,854 ballot units, 2,022 control units and 2,124 VVPAT machines were allocated for 1,653 polling stations here.

District Collector M. Asia Mariam visited the strong rooms on Wednesday and reviewed the preparations.
