New Delhi, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the statement by Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan that the peace process between the two countries has a better chance if Mr ZModi comes to power.
Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Mr Khan has supported Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying both the countries will have a better chance of settling the Kashmir dispute if Modi-led BJP government returned to power.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Mr Kejriwal said,’Why does Pakistan want Modi ji to win? Modiji must tell the country how deep is his relationship with Pakistan? All Indians should know that if Modi ji wins, there will be firecrackers in Pakistan.’
Rajya Sabha MP and senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjay Singh said in a tweet,’Why does Pakistan want his brother Modi to win? If Imran Khan regards Modi’s win as good, then it is clear that Modi and BJP are favouring Pakistan.’
“There are slogans raised in Pakistan–‘Narendra Modi once more’. Modi congratulated Imran Khan on Pakistan Day, so he must tell the country what is the secret deal with Pakistan? Why does Imran want Modi to be the Prime Minister?’ Mr Singh questioned.
‘If Modi wins the election then the crackers will be burnt in Pakistan. After the Pulwama incident, Modi has congratulated Imran on Pakistan Day, so what agreement did he do with Imran? ‘ Mr Singh said.
According to the media reports here, the cricketer-turned-politician further said if the Congress comes to power at the Centre then it might not start a dialogue with Pakistan on Kashmir as it will be scared of the opposition.
