Noida: Noida MLA Pankaj Singh held a roadshow on Tuesday and visited over 60 urban and rural areas to seek support for BJP candidate Mahesh Sharma, on the last day of campaigning. He was joined by a number of supporters, who wore saffron scarves and held party flags, on cars and bikes.
The road show started from the BJP office in Noida Sector 9 and the supporters visited sectors 20, 26, 27 and 37 and Challera, Aghapur and Salarpur among other areas.
Singh stood in an open truck that moved slowly along with a cavalcade. He greeted people with folded hands and appealed for votes. Party workers also placed a music system in an auto that moved with them.
“Non roti khayenge, Modi ji ko jitayenge,” was repeatedly played as a punch line. Some women party workers also joined the road show in a separate vehicle. “Mahesh Sharma has brought several development projects. Although, it may be a tough fight, but Sharma has a chance of winnig,” said Sudhir Kumar, a Noida resident. The road show, however, disrupted traffic at different places. A team of police personnel accompanied Singh all the way. TNN
