“Honor 20i is an upcoming mid-range phone with 6.2-inch full-HD+ display, Kirin 710 SoC, and triple rear cameras, while the Honor 20 Pro is said to be a more powerful model with quad-rear cameras”
Honor is scheduled to launch the Honor 20i and MagicBook Notebook at an event in China on April 17th, and the handset is expected to launch in Europe as Honor 20 Lite. Ahead of the launch, the phone is listed on the brand’s e-commerce platform Vmall, revealing the design in its full glory, and has also been spotted on Geekbench. Separately, Honor is also expected to announce the Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro later this month and now a case render of the Pro model has surfaced online.
The Honor 20i pre-orders are expected to kickstart from April 15th, two days ahead of the launch. The press renders from the Vmall listing shows the phone will come in Blue, Black, Red, and Purple gradient colours. The handset will pack triple rear cameras consisting of a 24-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel secondary sensor, and a 2-megapixel third sensor. The fingerprint sensor is present on the back and the company, through teaser images, has confirmed it will have a 32MP selfie shooter on the front.
The Geekbench listing reveals the phone will come with 4GB RAM, runs on Android 9.0 Pie. While the exact processor name isn’t revealed, it could be Kirin 710. In the single-core test, the Honor 20i has scored 1535 points and 5339 in the multi-core test. As for the other specifications, the phone is said to pack a 6.2-inch full HD+ display with 1,080 x 2,340 pixels resolution and waterdrop notch. It will reportedly come in two variants – 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage. A 3,400mAh battery fuels the handset. Connectivity features include Bluetooth 4.2, microUSB, and Wi-Fi ac.
Honor is also rumoured to launch the Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro later this month. The case render reveals vertical cutout for the rear cameras and a side-shaped cutout at the bottom indicating the phone might come with an additional camera sensor and LED flash like the P30 Pro. This once again confirms the Honor 20 Pro is likely to feature quad-rear cameras with 40-megapixel Sony IMX600 as the primary sensor. The additional cutout could house a ToF sensor. Huawei’s in-house Kirin 980 SoC will reportedly be a standard on both Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro.
The regular Honor 20 has been tipped to pack a 32MP front-facing camera and feature a triple rear camera setup with the 48MP primary sensor, a 20MP super-wide-angle lens, and an 8MP telephoto lens. The phone is said to arrive in three RAM and storage configurations – 6GB RAM + 128GB, 8GB RAM + 128GB, and 8GB RAM + 256GB. It is expected to come with a 3,650mAh battery that supports 22.5W fast charging.
