5-yr-old dies in pvt hospital
Mangaluru: A case of unnatural death has been filed in Puttur following the death of a five-year-old boy in a private hospital. The deceased is Yathish, the son of Harischandra, from Nelligudde in Bantwal taluk. According to a complaint filed by Harishchandra at Puttur town police station, Yathish was taken ill on April 8, following which he was taken to the hospital. The doctor prescribed some medicines and sent them home.

As the fever did not subside the next day, Yathish was again taken to the doctor, who asked the boy to get a scan done and admitted him as an inpatient. He was administered a liquid resembling glucose. The complainant alleged that soon, the boy began throwing up. The doctor declared him dead at 7.30pm on April 9. Samples from the body have been sent to Bengaluru for testing, and the police will proceed with the case based on the report submitted.
