Chico community members weigh in on proposed low barrier homeless shelter

Said she did not want to comment.

## dozens of people turned out at last night's chico city council meeting to weigh in on a proposed low barrier homeless shelter advocates for the homeless say more beds are needed to get people off the streets... and this would serve those who can't stay in the other established shelters... for a number of reasons... including being under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Many people have come out against the proposed location... the former woof and poof building on orange street.

One reason is how close it is to the university and two local schools.
