Speakers stressed the importance of mediation as a speedy way for disposal of cases at a mass mediation awareness camp held here on Tuesday.
Organised at the combined court complex by the District Mediation Centre, the programme saw the participation of bank managers, District Social Welfare Officer, Project Officer of Mahalir Thittam, representatives of non-governmental organisations, members of self help groups, para-legal volunteers and advocates trained in mediation.
The programme was presided over by Principal District Judge S. Kumaraguru. Superintendent of Police, Tiruchi, Ziaul Haque, Corporation Commissioner N. Ravichandran and others participated.
Speakers spoke about the scope for speedy disposal of civil cases, those pertaining to family disputes and check bounce cases through mediation and the benefits to both parties by this mode.
