NEW DELHI: Shares of JSW Steel declined almost 2 per cent in Tuesday's session after the company said its steel production declined in the fourth quarter of the last financial year.

In a BSE filing on Tuesday, the company said its crude steel production declined 3 per cent to 4.17 million tonnes in the March quarter against 4.31 million tonnes in the corresponding quarter in 2018.

However, for the entire financial year 2018-19, the crude steel production edged up by 3 per cent to 16.69 million tonnes against 16.27 million tonnes in 2017-18.

Shares of the company traded 0.95 per cent down at Rs 287.90 around 12:35 pm.
