Woman pregnant with twins dies in accident
Thiruvananthapuram: In a tragic incident, a 30-year old woman, who was into her ninth month of pregnancy, carrying twins, died after she met with a road accident at Dhanuvachapuram on Tuesday. The victim has been identified as Mini of Roadarikathu House, Pannimala, near Vellarada.
According to Parassala police, the accident occurred around 11am near Government ITI, Dhanuvachapuram. She was travelling from Neyyatinkara to Vellarada along with elder sister Sheeja in an autorickshaw. The rickshaw collided with a KSRTC bus near the Government ITI. Though both women were rushed to the hospital, Mini died on the way. The doctors declared her dead on arrival. Sheeja was admitted to Medical College Hospital for treatment.

Sheeja leaves behind husband Shibi John, who works in Saudi Arabia as a driver and two four-year-old sons, Abel and Aben, besides parents Sarada and Selvaraj.


Shibi John is expected to arrive here on Wednesday night. The funeral will be held on Thursday.


Three cops injured: In another incident, three cops, who were on escort duty to chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan, suffered injuries after their vehicle collided with another car. The accident occurred on MC Road at Koppam near Vembayam around 7.30 pm on Tuesday. All three injured cops are attached to Mangalapuram police station.


Inspector Justin John, who is the station house officer of Mangalapuram station, additional sub-inspector Radhakrishnan and civil police officer Manoj are the injured.
