Ludhiana, April 9, 2019: To mark the Golden Jubilee of the college and 550th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji, Gurmat Smagam was held at Ramgarhia Girls College on 9th April 2019. The day started with a melodious Kirtan by the students of P.G.Dept. of Music. After that, Kirtan Jatha, Bulendpuri and Bhai Jagtar Singh ji, Hazoori Ragi,Takhat Sri Kesghar Sahib, recited the kirtan and rendered divinity to the ambience with his soulful voice. The students showcased their talent at the Painting exhibition organised by the Dept. of Fine Arts and it was inaugurated by the eminent guests. Baba Amir Singh Ji, Head, Jawaddi Taksal and S.Arvinder Singh Ranga, Comissioner, Custom and Central Excise accompanied by S. Ranjodh Singh, President Ramgarhia Educational Council. The painting exhibition by the Department of Fine Arts was titled “ Raag naad Sab Sach Hai” and students painted 31 Ragas from Gurbani. This exhibition was to mark the significance of 550th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji through medium of oil, pastel and water colours. The college students also depicted the importance of four lawan according to Gurmat Maryada in classical style. S Ranjodh Singh appreciated the work of the budding artists. In his address to the students, he stressed that their devotion towards studies and faith in Supreme Being will surely help them to pass the exams with flying colours. Principal Dr (Mrs.) Inderjit Kaur stimulated tender minds by saying that by keeping unflinching faith in the Almighty, the students must gear up for their final exams. Former Principal Madam Harmit Kaur and Dr. Narinder Sandhu also marked their presence. Sardar Gurcharan Singh Lotey General Secretary also gave his best wishes to the students and prayed that the lord may adorn their future with success. The Smagam was followed by a langar which was humbly prepared by the students. College magazine was also released on the occasion.
