Sahara Q Shop scam accused attacked
Vadodara: An accused in Sahara Q Shop scam from the city was attacked by one of the victims of the fraud on Monday at Makarpura GIDC.
Scam-accused Surendrasinh Solanki was present at Sahara India’s local office when Ramjinish Chauhan reached there on Monday afternoon asking for money. Chauhan, who lives in Mujmahuda, got into an argument with Solanki over returning his invested money. Solanki tried to explain him that the company has deposited the investors’ money in a court in Vadodara and they will get it back after the order.

However, Chauhan was not convinced and started hurling abuses at him. When Solanki asked him not to use foul language, Chauhan started thrashing and punching him. It was only after Solanki’s colleagues intervened that Chauhan relented and left from there.

Solanki, who was booked with 19 others lodged a complaint against Chauhan with Manjalpur police station on Monday night. Chauhan was booked for assault and criminal intimidation.

It was in November last year that the detection of crime branch (DCB) police station had registered case in connection with the scam.

Solanki and two other local managers were also arrested by police. Later, on the order of a local court, the company deposited the money gathered from the victims.
