In a major jolt to the Lok Insaaf Party, close aide of MLA Simarjit Singh Bains, Vipan Sood Kaka, along with his supporters, joined the Shiromani Akali Dal in the presence of Sukhbir Singh Badal and Bikram Singh Majithia on Monday.Sood was cashier and constituency In charge of the party. He has contested the assembly election from Ludhiana Central on the ticket of the Lok Insaaf Party but lost. Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal has appointed Vipan Sood Kaka as general secretary of the party.

Speaking on the occasion, Sukhbir Badal said that the joining of Vipan Sood Kaka and other office-bearers of the Lok Insaaf Party (LIP) will boost Akali Dal. He said that Bains brothers were opportunists and his close aides have understood the same and left him.

Hitting out at the ruling party in Punjab, Sukhbir Badal said that Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has eloped from Punjab and has not started or announced even a single development project in any district of Punjab. He said that the Congress government has totally failed in Punjab and the people will show the door to the Congress in the coming Lok Sabha elections.
