Fire broke out in three chemical storage tanks at a unit of Asian Paints in Atchuyuthapuram special economic zone (SEZ), which is under construction, on Monday afternoon.
About 150 workers at the spot had run out in panic. According to the management, there was only an explosion and smoke but no fire. It was brought under control immediately. No casualities have been reported.
Panchakarla Ramesh Babu, TDP candidate for Yelamanchili constituency in the district, and other local politicians visited the spot.
